Borussia Dortmund had an offer for US prospect Malik Jakupovic turned down during the most recent transfer window. The 17-year-old forward from Philadelphia Union is considered a blue-chip talent for both his club and US soccer.

The German club showed interest in the young player, who is under contract as a Homegrown player with the MLS side. However, Philadelphia Union's decision-makers opted to reject the approach from Dortmund. Jakupovic therefore remains with his current club for the time being, where he is viewed as a key prospect for the future.

Dortmund's scouts continuously monitor the market for young talents to complement their own academy production. The club, currently sitting top of the Bundesliga with twelve points from four wins in four games, plans for the long term. This strong league position gives the sporting leadership room to consider future reinforcements.

The team under coach Edin Terzić is on a five-game winning run across all competitions, most recently securing a 1-0 away win at VfB Stuttgart. Maximilian Beier scored the winning goal in the 70th minute, assisted by Jobe Bellingham.

For the continuation of the season, Dortmund must currently cope without the injured Filippo Mané and Giannis Konstantelias. Serhou Guirassy, with two goals so far, provides a reliable scoring threat. The detailed squad list shows the broad base of players Terzić has at his disposal.

The focus now shifts entirely to extending the winning streak. The next Bundesliga match follows the international break.
