Debut in the Bundesliga
Fan Zhendong, the Paris Olympic champion, is in his second season in Germany but makes his home debut for Borussia Düsseldorf. On Saturday he earned two points in a 3-1 win over TSV Bad Königshofen. The two 3-1 victories against Andre Bertelsmeier and Filip Zeljko were decisive for the home win.

Manager Andreas Preuss told the South China Morning Post that Fan Zhendong’s performance was "only the beginning". "It was a fitting, warm welcome for Fan Zhendong," Preuss said. "I am thrilled. They were very exciting matches played at a high level. It was a celebration of table tennis."
