A Mercedes-AMG driver rammed police in Dortmund on Wednesday, injuring an officer while fleeing through a Baumarkt parking lot. The chase began when the driver ran a red light and accelerated to about 160 km/h.

Police response

Multiple police cars secured the exit as armed officers approached the white vehicle. A police helicopter searched the city at night, and the Mercedes was later found uninsured.

Injured officer

The injured police officer was taken to a Dortmund hospital by ambulance. Police do not consider this an attempted murder, only a body injury.
