Borussia Dortmund is facing the challenge of extending Karim Adeyemi's contract. The 24-year-old forward's current deal expires in the summer of 2027. According to Bild, however, Adeyemi is hesitant to accept the offered contract terms. Dortmund plans to extend the contract until 2030 and increase his salary from €5.5 million. Adeyemi's representatives also want to include a release clause in the contract, as the player wishes to play in the Premier League one day. In the 2025/26 season, Adeyemi had a bit-part role under coach Niko Kovač, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 28 Bundesliga games, of which he only started 15. If Adeyemi decides against extending his contract, BVB plans to sell the player this summer for around €40 million. Should he fulfill his contract, he could receive a significant signing-on fee of up to €15 million if he leaves the Ruhr club on a free transfer in 2027.
