Borussia Dortmund is on the verge of another important transfer. The 23-year-old Greek forward Giannis Konstantelias from PAOK Saloniki is already on the wish list of the Schwarzgelben. According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Borussia Dortmund has an eye on Konstantelias. Demnach stands the 23-year-old at several clubs on the wish list, although the interest of the Schwarzgelben is the most concrete. An offer has not yet been made. Konstantelias caused a stir in the summer with a transfer to VfB Stuttgart that was on the last meters. Apparently, the Swabians, the player, and PAOK were already in agreement on a transfer, before Saloniki's owner Ivan Savvidis intervened and the deal was blown up by him. For Konstantelias, who is still under contract with PAOK until the end of June 2029, the BVB would have to put around 20 million euros on the table. Whether this is financially possible after the transfer of Karetsas can be doubted. Getty Images## What happens next? The BVB is on the verge of another important transfer. Getty Images## How are the squad costs? Dortmund's sports director Lars Ricken has not ruled out further investments in the current transfer period, but has announced that the costs for the current squad will be reduced slightly. "We will make savings at one or the other place, especially in terms of squad costs", Ricken explained in an interview with the Ruhr Nachrichten. "The advantage is: If we achieve savings there, it gives us a financial leeway. So we can react in the end and make an additional swap deal, which we originally did not expect." With the already known departures of Julian Brandt and Niklas Süle, Dortmund saves around 20 million euros in salaries, in addition to transfer fees from the sales of Karim Adeyemi (22 million euros), Cole Campbell (six million euros), Julien Duranville (five million euros) and Kjell Wätjen (2.5 million euros). Further players, such as Yan Couto, could still follow.
