Ole Book, the Sports Director of Borussia Dortmund, believes that a transfer of player Felix Nmecha for the current transfer window is highly unlikely and does not expect it to happen. Nmecha stands currently reportedly on Newcastle United's wish list. Also Real Madrid was linked with him at some point in time, but the reported interest did not materialize. Currently, Newcastle United is seeking reinforcements for their midfield after selling Sandro Tonali and the impending transfer of Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal.
Nmecha has reportedly a release clause in his contract that only becomes effective next summer: At that point, he can reportedly leave the club for 80 million euros. When Real Madrid's interest seemed possible, Borussia Dortmund was quoted as considering a release clause of up to 120 million euros - but now Ole Book is almost categorically ruling out a transfer.
Felix Nmecha joined Borussia Dortmund in 2023 for 30 million euros from VfL Wolfsburg. After some initial difficulties, also due to injuries, he established himself under the guidance of coach Niko Kovac as a reliable player in the defensive midfield area. He is also set to be part of Borussia Dortmund's squad for the upcoming season alongside Jobe Bellingham.
