Borussia Dortmund is looking to the USA, Mexico, and Canada to find potential reinforcements. The club's gaze falls on Tomás Araujo, the Portuguese defender from SL Benfica. According to 'Sport1', Borussia Dortmund is interested in signing Araujo. The 24-year-old was also recently linked to FC Bayern, but the German record champion has no interest in a transfer. Araujo has a contract with SL Benfica until 2029 and a release clause of 80 million euros. His market value is said to be around 30 million euros. Borussia Dortmund had decided in the spring not to extend the contract with Niklas Süle. As a replacement, Joane Gadou was signed from RB Salzburg. The 19-year-old cost the Black and Yellows 20 million euros. Araujo gained international experience in 89 games in the Primeira Liga and 23 Champions League matches. The Portuguese defender made his league debut in the spring of 2022 and was loaned to Gil Vicente in the 2022/23 season. Ekrem Konur, a transfer reporter, reported that Araujo was on FC Bayern's 'shortlist', but according to Christian Falk, a 'Bild' reporter, he is not one of the club's transfer candidates.
