Borussia Dortmund signs Jacqueline Meißner, the record holder of SGS Essen. The 32-year-old defender will wear the BVB jersey from summer. "Jaci is an absolute leader who always takes action. With this quality, combined with her experience, she is a great gain for Borussia Dortmund", says BVB coach Markus Högner about Meißner, whom he trained for a total of eleven years in Essen. Jacqueline Meißner played 327 official games (16 goals) for SGS Essen and is thus the record holder of the club. Since 2021, Meißner has been captain of the Lila-Weißen and has appeared in the DFB-Pokal final in 2014 and 2020. Under Bundestrainerin Steffi Jones, she also played three international matches for the German women's national team. For Jacqueline Meißner, the change to Borussia Dortmund is "something I've been looking forward to". And further: "It was always a goal to return to my hometown. It's simply the greatest for me and my family that I will wear the BVB jersey from summer."
